The students of Radiophysics Department have taken part in the project “English Language Competency Development” since 2016. On the 1st of September, the first year students successfully passed testing in order to be defined in their initial level of English.
The Radiophysics Faculty is one of the leaders in research and teaching among all faculties of TSU. We provide diverse and extensive teaching basing on English placement testing of students in the beginning of the academic year. That is what creates an exceptional learning environment for our students and gives them the opportunity to join the learning community of the appropriate level enriching their experience with the suitable and functional lexis. It helps them to succeed and pursue opportunities in connecting with other students, navigating their academic pursuits, working on some research projects using foreign language and following the international standards.
Achieving mutual understanding and effective cooperation among the countries of the world will be possible if the language barriers are removed. English is increasingly being used as a tool for interaction among non-native speakers. English has become a tool for international communication in various areas of activity including scientific research. The importance of teaching and learning the English language as a language of global communication is of great importance for the training university programs as English has become an essential element in the skills required to be a competent professional in many different fields, including Radiophysics, Radioelectronics, Semiconductor Electronics, Optics, Photonics, Information Technologies, Space Physics, etc.
